The Best Breakfast and Brunch in Sisters, Oregon

by | Jul 21, 2022

Sisters, Oregon brings visitors back in time to an old-West inspired town and magical hikes just beyond the mountains. Another thing that the town promises is incredible food. Whatever your day looks like in Sisters, start it off right with these breakfast and brunch spots right in town.

Sisters Coffee Company: Sisters Cafe

A family-run business since its start in 1989, Sisters Coffee Company operates cafes in Sisters and Portland, along with a new coffee shop in Bend’s Old Mill District. In Sisters, The Sisters Cafe is nestled off Hood Avenue, and serves delicious brunch options like the Cowgirl Breakfast—two over medium eggs served with a braised pork shoulder. Stop in after a midmorning hike to enjoy equally appetizing lunch options like the Howdy Burger or the Veggie Wrap. Sisters Cafe partners with local companies Sparrow Bakery and Eberhard’s Dairy, and—of course—serve the renowned Sisters Coffee that started it all.

Sisters Bakery

Down the street from Sisters Cafe, just off Cascade Avenue, Sisters Bakery has fewer savory breakfast options, but plenty of sweet choices. Stop by for a quick bite before shopping around town, or stay awhile and have a pick of more than fifteen types of donuts, or endless baked goods like brownies, cinnamon rolls and pies. If you’re in the mood for something less sweet, Sisters Bakery’s homemade bread comes in all different flavors including: rosemary, cinnamon swirl, jalapeno and pepper jack cheese and the list goes on. The best time to visit the bakery might be the weekend, when they serve their outstanding sticky buns. We suggest getting their early to beat the breakfast crowd!

Angeline’s Bakery

Angeline’s Bakery

Right off Main Street, Angeline’s Bakery has been around since the 1990s, and is beloved around Sisters. Angeline’s is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for their specialty vegan and gluten-free treats; locals know to order the bakery’s signature scones filled with fresh fruit. For something heartier, Angeline’s offers breakfast sandwiches and some vegan sandwiches as well. Stop for a while to sit inside and enjoy the cheerful dining area, or grab something to-go for your adventures just outside of town.

The Gallery Restaurant and Bar

Beat the lunch rush and try out the Gallery in Sisters when searching for traditional, mouthwatering breakfast options. The restaurant has the look of an old saloon, playing into the Western charm of Sisters. Dine-in with choices like classic biscuits and gravy, or French toast with a Texas toast twist. Located on Cascade Avenue, the Gallery is hard to pass up and brings you right back in time to the wild West.

The Kitchen Table

The Kitchen Table serves fresh, housemade breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu changes often—sometimes daily—so don’t expect the same thing twice, but no matter what you order, it will be tasty. This spot is open Tuesday through Friday, making The Kitchen Table’s cozy atmosphere the perfect place to start the day during a midweek lull.

The Cottonwood Cafe

The Cottonwood Cafe is a newer addition to the Sisters restaurant family, but it certainly lives up to surrounding breakfast joints. The term “brunch” is taken seriously there; the menu has everything from stacks of syrupy pancakes to juicy burgers with gluten-free and vegetarian substitutions available. Even better, breakfast is served all day, so when the cravings for breakfast tacos hit at 2 p.m., just head down Hood Avenue towards The Cottonwood Cafe and enjoy your meal by the river rock fireplace, or—if it’s a nice day—outside. If you like the looks of the menu, but are searching for breakfast in Bend, check out Chow—The Cottonwood Cafe Chefs’ Bend breakfast spot.

Spoons Signature Breakfast

Spoons

Open for breakfast until noon every day, Spoons serves a menu of pancakes, potatoes and the signature Spoons Full Breakfast: two eggs, three pieces of bacon (or sausage), potatoes and two pieces of toast. Breakfast at Spoons is delicious, but the restaurant is also known for its frozen yogurt. While venturing around town, stop in for breakfast, and later, dessert.
