The city of Redmond, Oregon, is a haven in Central Oregon’s high desert, surrounded by farms, ranches and outdoor fun aplenty. In recent years, Redmond’s dining scene has greatly grown as the city continues to see new and innovative bars, restaurants, breweries, food trucks and more. From classic drive-in burger joints to authentic Mexican cuisine, craft cocktails and farm-to-table eats, Redmond surely has something for you to savor.

Best New Places to Eat in Redmond

A new addition to the restaurants in Redmond, Carnaval Mexican Grill brings a unique flair to their authentic dishes, along with an impressively diverse selection of Mexican liquors. Owners Yadira and Emmanuel Medina are from Mexico City and El Grullo, Jalisco, respectively, and both have brought with them an extensive knowledge of Mexican regional cuisine. With dishes like halibut and shrimp ceviche, queso fundido con chorizo, grilled octopus, fried plantains, traditional pozole and so much more, your taste buds are guaranteed some truly bold and exciting flavors.

The SCP Hotel Redmond has wowed guests with their rooftop bar and restaurant, but the hotel recently added another kitchen to its repertoire. The Wayfarer Club features tavern-style small plates and handcrafted cocktails. The Wayfarer menu is “plant-forward” with an emphasis on vegan and vegetarian options, while still including dishes that include locally raised meats. From charcuterie boards and pork tonkatsu plates to veggie burgers, Japanese curry and more, the Wayfarer Club is a destination for foodies of all kinds. Pair any entree with their house-made sangria—you won’t regret it.

Top Food Trucks in Redmond

The food truck wave has hit all of Central Oregon, and Redmond now offers some big flavor from these smaller kitchens. Located at Wild Ride Brewing, a popular local spot for craft beer and food trucks, guests can find Wild Catch, a seafood truck serving up English style fish and chips, beer battered shrimp baskets and a variety of wings for you to pair with your favorite Wild Ride brew. Don’t forget to try their out of the box desserts, like the raspberry cheesecake chimichanga. In the mood for pizza? Check out the Red Road Pizza Co., another addition to the Wild Ride food truck roster. They serve up affordable pies (the cheese pizza is only $9) with classic flavors like pepperoni and Hawaiian, along with more unique combinations like The Mt. Bachelor, which is made with house marinara, Italian sausage, slow cooked pulled pork, mushrooms and olives. Can’t decide on a pre-made option? Make your own!

You can find Westside Taco parked in downtown Redmond, and you won’t want to miss this one. Authentic Mexican cuisine meets bold and creative fusion. Handcrafted tortillas and scratch-made salsas accompany traditional Mexican meats like carnitas and al pastor, as well as out-of-the-box options like Thai curry chicken, blueberry brisket and buffalo chicken. These tacos are sure to leave an impression.

Did you ever expect to find high quality Italian home cooking served from a food truck? In Redmond, we call that Nonna’s Cucina. Chef and owner Ashley Lee recalls watching her nonna (Italian for “grandma”) prepare comfort food in her kitchen as a child, and now Lee strives to bring that same comfort to her guests. She prepares dishes like homemade ravioli (try it fried!), spaghetti and meatballs, and chicken alfredo, along with salad and sandwich options.
