The Homestead Pump Track opened up in the fall of 2018, and has been a popular spot for riders of all kinds ever since. Open daily from 8 a.m. to sundown, the track is 270 meters in total length and features a few long straightaways, two wall rides, high berms and plenty of dips to pump and pick up speed with. Entry is free, as the track is a sponsored track of Red Bull and the Union Cycliste Internationale Pump Track World Championships.
Top Mountain Bike Trails near Redmond
Mountain bikers in Redmond are lucky to have trails accessible near town. The nineteen-mile Maston Trail System is a popular one, and with good reason. Typically soils here are dry and sandy during the summer, so the Maston Trail is a great option for a winter ride, as long as it hasn’t rained or snowed too recently. These trails are mostly flat, and provide a moderate level of technical riding. A local favorite route is the Rockbar Trail, which guides riders on stacked lava rocks right alongside the Deschutes River. The toughest ride on this list is the Cline Butte Loop, listed as moderate-difficult. Located on the other side of Cline Falls Road, opposite of the Maston Trails, the Cline Butte Loop takes bikers up 1,200 vertical feet as they loop around to the top of Cline Butte. The reward from the top is a stunning view of the Cascade Range, as well as a much less physically-taxing ride back down.
